Bonjour! French Club at Mayplace Primary School

My name is Helen Fox, and I have a BA Joint Honours degree in French and Russian. I have been providing French clubs for both KS1 and KS2 at Mayplace for 10 years now, and I really enjoy it. All are welcome to join us!

I am DBS checked and teach the La Jolie Ronde method in local schools and online. La Jolie Ronde offers children a fantastic opportunity to learn French combined with a great deal of fun! Our classes have won several national awards.

This is what my classes provide:

• A unique structured language course established for over 40 years
• An excellent accent for the children to copy
• Small classes with plenty of individual attention, with children of a similar age
• Conversation, basic grammar, games, role-plays, rhymes and stories
• An awareness of France, its geography and culture
• French certificates and medals awarded on completion of each programme

La Jolie Ronde classes run separately from those offered in the curriculum to children at KS2. The programme is designed to enhance their learning skills and to challenge the children, which means that they excel at French and develop their language skills to the highest level possible. All children are welcome, we do not discriminate on any grounds.

Clubs take place as follows:

Monday 12.45-1.15 -  KS2 (y3-6), Salut Celine et Antoine

Tuesday 12.45-1.15 -  KS1 (y1&2), Les Aventures de Minou et Trottine

Classes cost £5.50 per session, payable termly in advance. An integral part of the course is the fun activity book and music app to help with your child’s learning. This lasts for a minimum of a year, at a cost of £22. Places are limited to 12 per class.
