All of our children in Rainbow are different and learn in different ways. Some children spend more of their time in their mainstream class and some do most of their learning in the Rainbow classroom.

In the Rainbow classroom, we follow the same curriculum as the other children in the school, but approach lessons in a different way. Please look at your child’s mainstream class page to see what topics they are learning each term. You will also find your child’s homework and spellings on their class page.

In Rainbow, we link children’s English work to their speech and language targets to support their spoken and written language development. We also spend time on activities to develop children’s fine and gross motor skills, both inside and outside the classroom as well as any other activities specified in children’s EHCPs such as targeted support to develop social skills.
