Choir
Mayplace Choir is continuing again this year! As you may be aware, Mrs Furlong has led the choir for 7 years and has passed the reigns to Miss Button and Miss Bleach. With this in mind, it has been decided that the choir will continue with a slight change in delivery. To accommodate for the whole of key stage two, and to allow for a focus on key events, the sessions will be held in the following fashion:
September to January - UKS2 only
Children in Years 5 and 6 are invited to join the choir to practise fortnightly on a Monday after school until 4.15. The dates are as follows:
16th September
30th September
14th October
4th November
18th November
2nd December
16th December
13th January
20th January – Young Voices concert (no regular after school choir)
These children will then have the opportunity to attend the Young Voices concert at the O2 in January! After the concert date, the choir for children in year 5 and 6 will be paused until June.
Children in Years 3 and 4 are invited to join the choir to practise fortnightly on a Monday after school until 4.15. The dates are as follows:

17th March
31st March
28th April
12th May
These children will have the opportunity to attend the Bexley Festival of Music in Croydon! This date will be confirmed later in the year.
June to July - all children
For the final summer term, the children who have attended either the UKS2 or LKS2 choir will be invited to meet again on Mondays as a collective, with the hopes to perform together at the end of the year! The dates are as follows:

If your child would like to join the choir, please complete the form below with your child's first name, surname and class. The deadline for Years 5 and 6 will be Friday 13th September and will have a capacity of 40 children, meaning it will be based on first come first served. This will then allow us to have the list of children for the first session on 16th September. Once the places have been offered, a letter regarding Young Voices will follow promptly.
In regards to years 3 and 4, a sign up email will arrive later in the year, closer to their start date.
